The Newbery Medal Project

Despite the fact that I have only ever completed one blog project (looking at you, Agatha), I have decided to start a new one - and a fun one - reading all the Newbery Medal winning children’s books!  The Newbery Medal was named for eighteenth-century British bookseller John Newbery. Since 1922 it has been awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.  I’m very, very much looking forward to reading (and re-reading) these books, and to introducing them to my monkeys!!  It is quite a list - there are books I’ve never heard of, books I know so well that I could write a review right now without re-reading at all, and at least two of my favorite books of all time!
