2012: 71. Girl at Sea

"Lightning flashed over Big Ben, and a bruise-like darkness draped over the dome of St. Paul's"

Girl At Sea, Maureen Johnson

This is a perfectly serviceable and entertaining YA book, about a girl (whose name I've forgotten) who is forced to leave her home and her plans for the summer (working at the local art store, flirting with the local art store boy), and go spend the summer with her estranged father.  They're estranged - they used to be close, until he let her down one time too many! And now she has to spend the summer with him on this boat that he's bought, while he and his new girlfriend(!) are hunting for ancient Greek treasure (!!).  AND there is another cute boy.  And it was totally charming and servicable, but I read it about a million years ago, and, so, that's about all I have to say about that.
