2011: 23-25. Three Gallagher Girl Books

“I suppose a lot of teenage girls feel invisible sometimes, like they just disappear.”

I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have To Kill You,

Cross My Heart And Hope To Spy, and

Don’t Judge A Girl By Her Cover, all by Ally Carter

Oh my lord, are these load of fun.  It’s a young adult series set in the prestigious Gallagher Academy for Young Ladies.  The world thinks of them as over privileged snobs, but, in fact, it is a super secret high school for SPIES.   Started by Gilly Gallagher (who saved Abraham Lincoln from the first assassination attempt) it has been training young ladies to become ass kicking spies for years.  And while the Gallagher Girls (and especially our narrator, Cammie Morgan) know a lot about covert ops and poisons, how will they ever solve the hardest case of all - boys??

So, these are silly, but super fun, and reasonably feminist, and I have to get my hand on the next one in the series.  And I have to say, handled well, this could be a pretty awesome, Buffy-esque tv series, too.
