2008: 43. Evil Under The Sun

“When Captain Roger Angmering built himself a house in the year 1782 on the island of Leathercombe Bay, it was thought the height of eccentricity on his part.”

Evil Under The Sun, Agatha Christie

This one takes place at an English resort, where a femme fatale, Arlene Marshall, is making herself the object of gossip as she cuckolds her loyal husband, and makes a play for a newlywed young man (to the chagrin of his poor mousy wife).  The resort is ablaze with the story, and when Arlene turns up dead, the story really gets going.  Luckly for us, Poirot just happens to be a guest at the resort, and he solves the crimes.  The solution to this one is somewhat unexpected and I enjoyed it bunches.
