2008: 23. One, Two, Buckle My Shoe

“Mr. Morely was not in the best temper at breakfast.”

One, Two, Buckle My Shoe, Agatha Christie

This is a murder that takes place at a dentist’s office, and turns on a woman’s shoe for the solution.  It is not the most memorable book Dame Agatha ever wrote (in that I read it a month ago, and the shoe sticks with me more than identity of the murderer does), but it all turns on a complex plot and the necessity that a dentist can’t identify a dead woman by her teeth.  I prefer a nice domestic murder to an elaborate caper murder, so this wasn’t my favorite Christie, but all Christie is fun Christie, so I can’t complain.
