2008: 194. The Regatta Mystery and Other Stories

“Mr. Isaac Pointz removed a cigar from his lips and said approvingly:

‘Pretty little place.’”

~First Lines of “The Regatta Mystery”

The Regatta Mystery, Agatha Christie

Yet another collection of short stories.  It is sort of boring to blog about three short story collections in a row, if I am to be completely honest.  They all start to blur.  This one had a fun Parker Pyne story, in which he conspires with a young man to make his mother become friends with his fiance, and a couple of Poirot tales, and a creepy little story at the end about a man who almost becomes a murderer (and the role that his own mysterious dream had in it all), but, you know, its just a collection of detective short stories, not too different from the last two I had read previously.  Amusing, entertaining, and not too taxing.
